Saudia captain Tariq Al-Taieb was hijacked twice in his career. In 1984 a gunman on a Riyadh–Jeddah flight demanded to be flown to Tehran, and after eight hours of negotiation Al-Taieb overpowered him himself. Years later two armed airport workers diverted his Jeddah–London flight to Iraq.
